When coaching baseball, after introducing the grip to players learning to throw the baseball, it is important that they begin to see how the whole body is involved in making a strong throw. The fingers and wrists play an important role. To get the feel of how they work, isolate the wrist and apply the force with the fingers and wrist directly through the center of the ball so that it spins from 12 to 6 on a clock. The drill in this video, from the iBook, Practice Baseball to Win, is step one in the process of getting all of the available parts involved.
