GROUP COORDINATION, An Excerpt from the iBook, Practice Baseball to Win
The GROUP COORDINATION section of practice breaks down the plays to include only the players directly involved with the play. Time can be saved by practicing more than one play at a time. For example, the pitchers, catchers, and third baseman can work on bunts to the left side while another pitcher works on the 3-6-1 double play. Group coordination should consist normally of two to three ten minute sessions. To maintain continuity and cover all situations in the allotted time it is very important that the drill time not be extended. If the drill is not being done well it is tempting to try to fix the problem with more time. Remember the available time is fixed and something else must be sacrificed if time is extended.
